Calendar & Lab Availability

Use this calendar to find and register for instrument training, see when a Breakerspace Lab Assistant will be on duty for drop-in project support, and check for scheduled activities that reserve the instrument lab, lounge, or both.

Looking for a particular instrument? Individual instrument reservations are managed separately. An open period on this calendar does not guarantee that an instrument is available; check individual instrument availability in LibCal.

Calendar

Calendar entries use these text labels so their meaning does not depend on color:

  • Training: Open the event to review the instrument, prerequisites, available places, and registration details.
  • Lab Assistant on duty: A Breakerspace Lab Assistant will be present for drop-in project questions and ad-hoc support. These hours are not a substitute for required instrument training or reservations.
  • Reserved activity: The event title states whether the instrument lab, lounge, or both are reserved. Lab reserved for activity and Lab and lounge reserved for activity entries block individual instrument reservations across the lab for the listed period. Lounge reserved for activity entries affect Room 8-102 only. To request either space for teaching or an organized activity, follow the whole-lab reservation instructions.

Understanding Lab Availability

The Breakerspace instrument lab and lounge are normally open from 8 AM to midnight, seven days/week. Lab Assistant on duty entries identify times when drop-in support is available; they are not the lab’s opening hours.

During a lab-only or combined lab-and-lounge reservation, individual instrument reservations are unavailable across the lab for the complete listed period, including setup and cleanup. A lounge-only reservation does not block instrument calendars, but Room 8-102 is unavailable. Even when no general lab reservation appears, use the individual instrument calendar before planning independent work.
